The Ride
Although inactive now, the ReBoot ride was an 18 seat vehicle mounted atop an orthogonal motion base. Video was then projected onto an IMAX screen, immersing participants in a ReBoot-style adventure. The tour guide for this experience was Maxine the search engine, who was originally seen in the Season 3 episode, The Episode With No Name.
The ride, which first came out in Mississauga, Ontario, eventually wound up in 2007 at the Luxor in Las Vegas. A lot of things seem to end up in Vegas.
But a second ride entitled ReBoot: The Ride V.2: Journey into Chaos was soon to follow. This might have been a pretty good title, since the idea was to let you travel through the mind of Hexadecimal. Both Mike the TV and Herr Doktor acted as tour guides.
Presently, little is known as to what happened to V.2. Its whole stint was on the floor of Playdium at Burnaby, British Columbia, but only for a short while. So, it’s a bit of a mystery but we want to hear from you. If you have any information, email us. We’d love to know more.
* It should be noted that the stories in the rides clashed with the ones of the series. Because of these discrepancies, it was not recognized by the creators.
