I think that it would be great to make a movie based on the first 3 seasons and then start a sequel as a TV series. I would be happy.

Well I kind of agree with you. It'd be nice to have the original creators back... they could put some of the ol' ReBoot charm in the movie. But I don't think they should wrap up the hunt. What I think is that instead of continuing from the hunt, they could probably have the movie set somewhere in the later-middle of it. But have a new character (with a backstory on how she/he got there) intertwine with the ReBoot gang and how she/he finds out what is happening in Mainframe. ( So new fans don't get much confused on whats happening. )

I completely get what You all are talking about. We all want our own say, and hopefully provide constructive criticism, so our common interest can be met with grace. There are a lot of challenges for ReBoot to come back with a story that is, at least, just as enjoyable as previous stories.
Alas, we all are different, and would like to see ReBoot come back in our own way, that's why we, the fans, were asked what we wanted when ReBoot was to be revived, so Rainmaker could get a good estimate on the quality, and on the money they'll make. I know that continuing where the story left off might not raise the fan base very quickly, but if the movies came out, coupled with a new box set of the old shows and movies, that would be another deal.
Although no major develpoment on the DVDs has been made yet, it will be relatively soon for it to happen. I say this because the old licences for the DVDs are either up, or close to it, thus allowing a new set to be able to be made legally by Rainmaker.

I'm not going to judge until I see the movie - until then I'm going to put some faith in Rainmaker.
Who knows? Maybe they'll manage to somehow make Reboot even better and more lovable then the original (if that is even possible)...

You guys have to understand that this wont be ReBoot we all know and love so much. In order for Rainmaker to make a profit and to get new people interested in its "ReBoot" they have to almost COMPLETLY remake it. I think what Rainmaker is trying to do is Remake it and hope to god that it gets new people liking it, and then maybe start where Gavin and Ian left off at "The Hunt" and start a show, with Gavin and Ians help. I also think that Gavin and Ian are giving Rainmaker a chance to make a good two-three movies and then start a show with some supervision. People just have to relax, let Rainmaker do its thing, Watch all two-Three movies that are produced and dont expect the same ReBoot or you most likely will be dissapointed.

Rainmaker can't screw up to much or they know that it will all go down the drain and that no one will have anything to do with the movies or series (if it comes back too).

There is a historical precedent for a series doing well (or even improving) upon leaving the hands of the original creators - Doctor Who, Star Trek, Transformers, numerous comic book franchises like Superman and Batman. and bear in mind that the presence of the original creator does NOT guarantee success or even quality.
For example, Glen A. Larson was involved in the creation of the 'Knight Rider 2000' TV movie, which was dreadful and (rightfully) panned by critics, or indeed the Star Wars prequels mentioned in an above post.
What we're really talking about here is creating something of high quality that will do well while still maintaining the feel of the original show and treating its source material with the respect it deserves.
I am of the personal opinion that getting at least some of the creators aboard would be a wise choice, considering that certainly Gavin Blair is still enthusiastic about the show and has stated at a couple of conventions that he would like to come back.

I do believe that the original writers should be given a chance to contribute to the new films, but i also think that the new people should be given a chance. Just becuase they weren't there when seasons 1-4 were made dosen't mean that this will turn out to be a bad film. It could be brilliant. It could be a disaster. At the moment we don't know. I feel your concerns for the much loved show (and I share them), but so long as they listen to us then I think we'll be ok.
And let's face it, even if they do screw it up, it'll never get rid of the original series'. That is something nobody can take away
